MY PERSONAL CRAMPS STORY:
and i wanted the Munich Show to be the first Time to speak with my Heros.
To be honest, i thought THE CRAMPS will kick my Ass, when i would go to them and ask for
an Interview for my Fan-Homepage. But look what happened...
My Plan was: coming near the Band by wearing a "SECURITY" T-Shirt and surprising Lux with a special Bootleg Record. (They are collecting THE CRAMPS-Bootlegs). As the Tourbus arrived,
a Crew-Member said that i can not speak with the Band but when Lux came out of the Bus i told him friendly that i have a Present for him.
He made one step back and the two Crew-Guys made one Step forward to me. Lux smiled and said
"Sometimes People try to beat my Face when they say I HAVE A PRESENT FOR YOU".
Everybody smiled and i promised to give him a REAL Present.
He liked it and in this Moment Poison Ivy was getting out of the Bus.
I said "hello" and "I have the biggest european Cramps-Fan-Homepage in the Internet.
Please may i make a little Interv..."
Ivy interrupted me "Oh, www dot cramps dot de...this is YOU ??".
"YES" i smiled "May i make a little Interview with you ?"
Ivy and Lux were quite amused as i took out my Fisher-Price-Childrens-Cassette-Recorder and they gave me very friendly Interview.
Well, here is my Interview with Ivy and Lux from THE CRAMPS. Some might say:
I would have asked other Questions !.....But hey, I'm not the fu**ing "Rolling Stones Magazine" and I am glad that I was able to breath during the Interview. I was really nervous although they were very friendly and relaxed.
Michael:
May I record this on my Childrens-Cassette-Recorder, so I can translate
it at Home?
Lux: Yes, of
course.
Ivy: Let's
go to a more quiet Place. Not in Front of the Bus.
Michael: Today it's the Birthday of my Girlfriend and I said to
her that THE CRAMPS are playing in Munich tonight. So she looked in my
Eyes and said: Never mind my Birthday....Go to watch "your Cramps"!
Lux: What's her
Name?
Michael: Monica
Lux (into the Microphone):
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONICA!
Michael:
Well,
what have you done to Ivy, that she cut off your Head as we can see
on the new Album Cover ?
Lux:
I like her to treat me rough!!!
Michael: So
you have done NOTHING??? You liked it?
Lux: No,
no,no, I like it.
Michael: Who
cares for your Cats when you are on Tour for so long?
Ivy: Our
next Door Neighbours. One of the Artists of "Spongebob Squarepants"
and they care about the Cats.
Lux: You
know that Show "Spongebob Squarepants"?
Michael: No,
sorry.
Lux: It's
a Cartoon. It will be here in Germany soon. It's huge.
It's the Number One Cartoon in America. (Michael:
It IS on german Television, but I didn't know to this Time.)
Ivy: He
(Lux) sang a Song for the Cartoon.
Lux: I
sang a Song called: "Underwater Sun". It's just my Voice but
it's a Marionette
of a Parrot that looks like me with Spike-Heels and stuff.
Michael: Did
you enjoy the private Party Weekend in Colmar, France?
Lux: Oh,
it was great!
Ivy: We
were at Space Fil and Wild Sandy. They are huge Fans and followed us on
Tour for many Years.
Even in America although they are from France.
Lux: They
are old Friends.
Ivy: And
they started a Band inspired by our Band...It was quite a Party with them
and their Friends.
We had to Stop in Colmar because we came from London and our first Show
was in Bologna, Italy.
So we had to pass through. So it seemed to be crazy if we would not play
there.
Michael: Did you stay there overnight?
Ivy:
No, just for some hours. We were at Fil and Sandys Appartement. It was
really nice there.
Michael:
Jungle Jim Chandler is the new Drummer. Will he stay after the european
Tour?
Ivy: We
don't know yet. It's a good Chance for Jim because Harry has some Problems
which take to much Time we don't have now.
Lux:
It's a pretty good Chance for Jungle Jim...
Ivy: Yes,
we love Jim.
Michael: So
can he choose to stay after Europe or...?
Ivy: We
have only done one Show ! It's too early now. We have fun together.
He is a Fan and Friend and we played with his Band twice in Denver. The
Down N Outs.
So he's our Friend helping us and he's a fantastic Drummer.
Michael: He
was also Drummer with The Makers.
Ivy: Yes,
he just joined The Makers sometime this Year and then we called him and
now he is here.
You know, he loves The Makers but he really loves THE CRAMPS!
Michael: He
has some Poison Ivy Tattoos on his Forearms, right?
Lux: Yes,
he has "Big Beat From Badsville" and the other is "Bikini
Girls With Machine Guns".
Michael:
I would love to make some Photos of that.
Ivy: Yeah,
he passed by already. Later we can look for him to make some Photos.
Michael: Did
he have to learn all the...150 Cramps Songs or just a Tour-Set?
Ivy: Not
that many yet...just the Set for now, because it's all too soon.
Michael: Are
there Plans for a new Single on Vengeance Records?
Lux: Not
right now. Mainly because of Harry. We wanted to have one out by now,
then it became a Problem with him and so it didn't happen. But hopefully
we will have one soon.
Michael: May
I have an Autograph on my "Human Fly" Single? It's my favorite
Song for over 15 Years now.
Lux: Shure.
Ivy: Oh,
that's an Original (Both are touching and proofing it)
Michael: Will
you play "Human Fly" tonight?
Lux: Maybe
we will. I don't know.
Michael: Will
there be a After-Show-Party or something?
Lux: No,
we will have a 24 Hour Drive to Spain to play with Iggy and The Stooges.
Michael: Well,

We made a Couple of Fotos and Ivy gave me another Autograph on
my Copy of the European Tour Book of 1986.
I was able to make Photos of Jim's Forearms after the Show.
